Fence
The railings that surround the Luxor Obelisk in Paris, the beautifully uniformity of the spikes, the background blurring, and the wonderful accident of a woman coming into the frame.
Bench, 2 Stones
A bench in Galway looking out on the sea. And what of the stones? They were there as I walked by with my camera. Placed there perhaps by a child, part of some game? Or an adult, for reasons that would only make sense to them. And what might they mean now, captured in the photograph? They mean one thing to me, maybe two, but to the viewer they might mean something else entirely, the possibilities endless. I know the stones are no longer on that bench, but I can imagine they are.
Broken Glasses
Where is the other half of the glasses? Why/how were they broken? Does the owner now have a new pair, bought when this pair were broken, lost? Or is the owner long gone and those glasses are all that remains of them, of their belongings? What might have been seen through their lenses?
Love Tree
Why is this The Love Tree? Who carved those words there? Why? A marker of a love, an act. A memory to return to years from now? The world is full of amazing things for someone taking their time as the walk through the world with a camera in their hand.
