The conversation is friendly, inclusive and insightful, and generally lasts about an hour. The group meets online three to four times a year.

To help facilitate discussion and to get the wheels turning, here are a few questions that we might discuss if the group is interested.
Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee
1). In what ways are David and Lucy different? Perhaps more importantly, in what ways are they similar?
2). This book was published in 1999. Do you think the treatment of sexual relationships would be different if it was published today? Would the book’s reception be different?
3). What is your interpretation of David’s last act in the book, both on the level of the plot and perhaps the greater meaning behind it?
4). What does David’s relationship with Beth Shaw say about him?
5). In what ways are national identities at play in the book?
